This policy applies to information we collect when you use our website at onthelatch.github.io (the "Website"), purchase a license for our "Ticket Scanner" application (the "App"), or otherwise interact with us. We are committed to protecting your privacy. We will only use the information that we collect about you lawfully and transparently. By using our Services, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

2. Who is Responsible for Your Data?

3. What Information We Collect and Why

We collect information in the following ways:

a) Information You Provide to Us

Purchase Information: When you purchase a license for our App, you do so through our payment processor, Paddle.com. To complete your purchase, you will provide them with information such as your name, your business/organization's name, email address, and payment details. We receive a confirmation of your purchase from Paddle, which includes your name, email, and license details, so we can provide you with the service and support. We do not receive or store your full credit card information.

Purpose: To process your transaction, create and manage your license, send you important service-related communications (like receipts and renewal notices), and provide customer support.

Lawful Basis (GDPR): Performance of a contract.

b) Information We Collect Automatically from the App

No Personal Data: The Ticket Scanner App itself is designed not to collect any personal information from you or your device. It functions as a secure interface to the Spektrix™ service, and we do not see or store any data that you scan or access through that interface.

Technical & Crash Data: To help us fix bugs and improve the App's performance, we may use third-party services like the Google Play Console to collect anonymized, aggregated technical information, such as crash reports and device-type statistics. This data does not personally identify you.

Purpose: To maintain and improve the stability and functionality of our App.

Lawful Basis (GDPR): Legitimate interests.

c) Information We Collect Automatically from our Website

Cookies and Analytics: Like most websites, we may use cookies or similar technologies to collect information about how you interact with our Website (e.g., pages visited, time spent on site). This is typically anonymous data that helps us understand our user base.

Purpose: To analyze the performance of our Website and improve the user experience.

Lawful Basis (GDPR): Legitimate interests or consent (depending on the type of cookie).

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your information with the following third parties only in the ways that are described in this Privacy Policy:

  • Paddle.com: We share information with Paddle as necessary to process your payments and manage your subscription. Paddle acts as our merchant of record.
  • Google Play Store: The App is distributed through the Google Play Store, which has its own privacy policies regarding app downloads and analytics.
  • Service Providers: We may use other companies to help us run our business (e.g., website hosting). These companies are authorized to use your personal information only as necessary to provide these services to us.
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with a legal obligation, protect our rights, or prevent fraud.

5. Data Retention

We will retain your information only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this policy. We will retain and use your information to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations (for example, if we are required to retain your data to comply with applicable tax/revenue laws), resolve disputes, and enforce our legal agreements and policies.
